Joseph Pilates believed the Pilates Method should be performed individually and chose to operate his studio in this manner. When a Pilates’ client entered his studio for the first time, he would teach them privately in a separate part of the studio. The private sessions continued until Joe believed the client was capable of properly executing the Pilates’ Method exercises without assistance. After Pilates released a client from private sessions, he would carefully monitor their performance on the equipment. If he ever felt a client was not properly executing the movements, Joe would work with them privately until they had fine-tuned their Pilates practice.
A Private Session is a 55 minute, one-on-one session with an instructor. Each session is devoted to the specific needs and abilities of the individual. In a private session, you will learn exercises developed by Joseph Pilates to improve your strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, muscle tone, and overall well-being. Exercises will be performed on the reformer, cadillac, spine corrector, ladder barrel, wunda chair, pedi-pole, and mat.
Private Sessions are highly recommended and will provide a client with a deeper understanding of the Pilates Method. Learning the proper execution of Pilates movements will provide optimum physical and mental benefits for an individual.
Private Session Prices:
This 55 minute class will be taught with the intention of following the Pilates Method as created by Joseph Pilates. The exercises will be taught according to his methods by using the apparatus he created. Performing the Pilates flow of exercises will create a balanced body of lean and flexible muscles.
Classes are recommended for those that have prior knowledge of Pilates’ terminology and movements.
